Attorney Nick Heimlich, who is an experienced litigation lawyer, will be participating in the upcoming 7th Annual Wheels for Meals Ride. The event will take place on October 29, 2016 at the Shadow Cliffs East Bay Regional Park and is set to benefit the Meals on Wheels of Alameda County.
The Meals on Wheels of Alameda County program assists over 2,000 seniors in the county area. The main aim of the group is to provide hot and healthy meals to those seniors who are incapable or who might have a difficult time in obtaining healthy food. They prepare and deliver hot meals for the seniors during weekdays. In the process of delivering the food, they are able to provide much-needed wellness checks at the same time.
The annual bike ride is used to raise funds for the program. The aim for this year is to be able to raise more than $180,000, which would translate into more 22,000 meals for seniors all over the country.
The event raises funds through two means. The first one is through the registration of riders and the second means is through fundraising of the riders themselves. As an incentive, there are prizes for the riders who can raise the biggest amount.
The advanced registration for the event will close on October 28, 2016 or when they have 1,200 riders already. On the same date, there will be a packet pick-up event that will be held at the Sports Basement store that is located in San Ramon. During the pick-up event the riders will be able to enjoy complimentary food and drinks. They can also get merchandise discounts and be able to participate in raffles.
The ride has three routes available for riders. These routes are 15 mile, 35 mile, and 70 mile. All the routes are going to be covered by SAG vehicles. The routes will also have plenty of cue sheets, rest stops, markings. The riders will be treated to a BBQ after the ride and there will also be entertainment and expo booths.
Attorney Nick Heimlich has been joining charity events like the 7th Annual Wheels for Meals Ride for several years now. These events are aimed at raising funds for worthy causes. He is also an enthusiast when it comes to being physically fit.
Recently, he joined the Rocky Ridge 10K Race by Brazen Racing. That race took place on October 1, 2016 and was a success. The race was particularly challenging because the route has many uphill portions and rugged trails. It was challenging but fun for someone who is physically fit and prepared.
